The Role

Partou are seeking an experienced and approachable IT Support Technician to join our Technology and Transformation Team.As IT Support Technician you'll be part of a team our nurseries and central support turn to when they have technical issues or requests, but this role is about more than fixing problems. It's about how you communicate, how you make people feel, and how proactively you spot and solve issues before they become a larger problem. You'll be the bridge between our internal teams and our external technology partners, communicating with suppliers and making sure team members always know what's happening and when. Security and data protection run through everything we do. Because we work with children and families, keeping our systems and our people's data safe is part of how we approach the job every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • >Responding to helpdesk tickets and calls via our helpdesk platform, resolving issues promptly and keeping team members informed throughout?
  • >Diagnosing and resolving network and connectivity issues across our nursery sites, including LAN, DNS, TCP/IP, and internet connectivity
  • >Supporting and maintaining our VoIP telephony systems, ensuring reliable communications across all locations.
  • >Setting up and maintaining hardware, user accounts, software, and endpoint protection.

    >Keeping our asset register accurate and up to date, tracking hardware and software across the organisation.

    >Acting as the day-to-day point of contact between our IT team and external suppliers. Chasing resolutions, tracking progress, and escalating internally where needed.

    >Helping team members across the organisation stay cyber aware through clear guidance on tickets, and well-written support materials.

    >Supporting the response to security incidents when they arise. Containing, documenting, and escalating appropriately.

    >Working within our information security policies and GDPR requirements as a matter of course.

    >Assisting with IT projects - new technology rollouts, infrastructure improvements, and more.

    >Flagging risks and opportunities proactively, and contributing ideas to how we do things better.

What we're looking for

This role is the human face of IT at Partou. When something goes wrong, you're the person team members call, and how you make them feel in that moment matters just as much as whether you fix the problem. We're looking for someone approachable, positive, and team-oriented; someone who goes beyond the ticket, gets stuck in, communicates clearly, and brings good energy to the team. We take the technical side seriously, but the person behind the skills matters just as much. We're looking for someone who brings both.

Essential:

  •    >2+ years of front-line IT support or helpdesk experience.

  •    >Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You can adapt your style for a nursery colleague, a senior manager, or a technical supplier.

  •    >A proactive, customer-first mindset. You chase things down, keep people informed, and don't wait to be chased.

  •    >Confident troubleshooting of LAN, DNS, TCP/IP, and general internet connectivity issues.

  •    >Experience with VoIP telephony systems including setup, maintenance, or fault resolution.

  •    >Day-to-day use of a helpdesk or ITSM platform (such as Freshservice, ServiceNow, or similar) for ticket management.

  •    >Experience managing or maintaining an IT asset register.

  •    >Experience managing or liaising with third-party suppliers or technology partners.

  •    >Solid working knowledge of Microsoft environments. Windows, Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender, Exchange Online.

  •    >A working understanding of cyber security principles. Managing incidents, follow security policies, and help team members stay safe online.

  •    >Comfortable working in an environment where safeguarding children is a shared responsibility.

  •    >A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to nurseries occasionally.
