About Us:

At Partou, the safety and well-being of children is central to everything we do. As one of the largest childcare providers in the UK, following the acquisitions of Just Childcare and All About Children, we are committed to maintaining the highest health and safety standards across our growing network of nurseries. With over 1,000 nursery branches worldwide and a team of 11,000+ dedicated professionals, we are focused on creating safe, nurturing environments for more than 75,000 children.

We are investing in quality care, early years learning, and rigorous safety protocols as we continue to expand. Joining us as a Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in safeguarding our nurseries and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations across all locations.

Why This Role Is Important:

The Safety Advisor role is vital in ensuring our nursery locations maintain the highest standards of health and safety and food safety. You will work directly with nursery managers, ensuring all nurseries meet safety regulations and offering expert guidance on compliance, training, and crisis management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and support on health and safety, food safety, fire safety licensing, and incident management to nursery managers, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections, identify areas for improvement, and provide corrective training as needed to support safe practices across all nurseries.
  • Investigate serious incidents, including accidents, near misses, and breaches in safety protocols, and work with management teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for enforcement officers, local authorities, and other regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with safety standards and risk assessments.
  • Support and coach teams where necessary, particularly in locations that fail audits or require assistance in achieving a satisfactory rating.
  • Manage and investigate allergen incidents, food poisoning allegations, and other food safety concerns, working closely with enforcement officers and internal teams.
  • Escalate any unsafe conditions or actions that may compromise the safety of operations to the relevant management or safety manager.
  • Promote positive safety management at meetings and workshops, sharing best practices and encouraging a proactive safety culture across the organisation.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics, ensuring consistent application of HACCP and other safety processes.
  • Deliver both health and safety and food safety training, ensuring all staff are competent and knowledgeable in safety protocols.

Success in this role means maintaining a safe environment across all nurseries by ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, managing safety risks, and resolving incidents swiftly. It involves building a strong safety culture where staff take ownership of safety best practices and feel supported in their roles.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in a multi-site environment, ideally within catering, childcare, or similar industries.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, with a proven ability to conduct audits, manage incidents, and work with enforcement authorities.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple projects, and ensure high standards are maintained across all sites.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as Level 4 Food Safety, NEBOSH, or equivalent Health and Safety certifications.
  • A full driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the safety and well-being of children across a large, diverse network of nurseries.
  • Competitive salary and benefits, including professional development opportunities and support for ongoing learning.
  • A supportive and inclusive working environment where your expertise is valued.
  • Access to a range of employee benefits, including childcare discounts, health and wellness support, and more.
